EDUCATION IS ONE OF OUR TOP AGENDA: Ag Executive Governor

The acting Executive Governor Dr. Nasiru Yusif Gawuna has said the Ganduje’s led administration has introduced various policies and programes aimed at bringing back out of school children to  school as  part of its commitments in tackling the menace of out of School Children.

Dr. Nasiru Gawuna disclosed  this when he received the Deputy Executive Secretary Technical, Universal Basic Education Commission Professor  Bala Zakari who paid him a courtesy call at his office.

The Acting Executive Governor, further stated that the state Government also introduced policy on Free and Compulsory Basic Education to provide good opportunity to children of school age to access basic Education, adding that the move has yielded fruitful result as evidence in the increased school’s enrolment.

He added that  as part of the state reform initiative Governor Ganduje  constituted a committee to review the Tsangaya and Quranic Schools system, which pave room for integration and  the committee has since submitted their report.

While thanking the Deputy Executive Secretary for the visit, Dr. Nasiru Gawuna reassures the determination and commitment of state Government toward the transformation of education system, stressing that no any society could develop without sound education.

Earlir the Deputy Executive Secretary, Universal Basic Education Commission Prof Bala Zakari said they were in Kano on Better Education Service Delivery for All (BESDA) support visit and to inspect and supervise BESDA Program activities.

Responding to the acting Executive Governor on the outcome of their visit Prof. Bala Zakari said their team has visited Tsangaya and learning centers in the state noting that, they were highly impressed with performance of Kano BESDA team in terms of proper coordination implementation.

While appreciating the effort of    Kano state Government for its full support to the program which has led to the successes, he also expressed appreciation to warm reception accorded to him and his entourage.

In his welcome address, the Executive Chairman, Dr. Danlami Hayyo said Kano BESDA has achieved a lot in integrated Tsangaya and Learning centers in all part of the state, adding that the implementation of Cohort 1 is completed successfully while cohort 2 is now in progress.

Dr. Hayyo commended the State Governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for his commitment and determinations at improving to Basic Education delivery, pointed out that the Governor has spent huge amount on education through construction and renovation of hundreds of class rooms, improving teachers welfare while sustaining training and retraining of teachers among other

He then thanked the Deputy Executive Secretary, Professor Bala Zakari and his team for the wonderful visit.
